The Range
EASTERN EUROPEAN OAK BARRELS
The Quercus patraea species is a slow-growing oak, native to most of Europe. The slow growth creates medium to fine/tight grains.
With higher aromatic compounds and low tannins, Hungarian oaks offer a more subtle oak impact for your premium wines.
In the Carpathian mountains of western Romania, in the heart of Transylvania, there are majestic forests of Sessile oaks characterized by an extra fine grain.
The oak has proven itself over time and through our experiments revealing its own personality and characteristics; bringing together essential attributes for the production of quality barrels, including the presence of aromatic and phenolic compounds.
